Dear Chaz,
This letter is from your future self. It is February 27, 2023. You are 31 and aging like fine wine. Mmm, you may be aging like milk but who’s to say? I wanted to write to show you the life you are headed towards because if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.
Between 2017 and 2023, you’re going to have a lot of people ask you where you see yourself in five years. Instead of making something up on the fly, you’re going to point them to this because you are better than that and have a good head on your shoulders.
First, let me tell you about your family. You’ve just celebrated your sixth wedding anniversary with Kennedy and your daughter’s fifth birthday is coming up here in a couple months. They’re both beautiful and amazingly supportive and life is good. You and Kennedy are still arguing about the details of how to homeschool Adeline.
Thanks to hard work and the sweet grace of God, you just paid off your student debt and you’re about to put a downpayment on that house you’ve been looking at by the lake near Cleveland. It needs a coat of paint and definitely some updates but that’s to be expected.
You just created an amazing ad campaign and are one year into your position as Creative Director. You are continuing to push the boundaries of interactive media and this gives you great fulfillment.
You are going to be tired. There are going to be days that you aren’t sure if you are doing the right thing. Keep your chin up, work hard, and believe in yourself. You are killing it.
Best,
Chaz
