My first project for the daily design challenge is a health and fitness brand/website that is being started by fellow Praxian. The desire was for something minimalistic. I want all of my clients to have options as to what they choose to communicate with their brand so I am creating 4 logos for him. (This post will be updated daily from March 1st – 4th)

Logo 1– I wanted this first logo to be focused on the results of weight loss. I used a fun sans-serif font for easy legibility and market familiarity. I also used altering weights. The easiest way to communicate weight loss was to have the word weight be heavy and loss show the contrast.

Logo 2 – Keeping the font and color scheme the same, I wanted this logo to showcase the process of weight loss; a simple leafy green with a small bite taken out. I used a style of shading consistent with minimalist design to add depth without too much flare.

Logo 3 – I wanted to offer a more masculine option and try integrating the process into results.

Logo 4 – Another integration of the process with results, this time with the feminine shape from the first logo.

Starting Weight Loss decided on logo one. Here are their remarks on the process-

“I created ‘StartingWeightLoss.com’ to help all the people that are too confused or busy to deal with all the contrary info out there about weight loss. The logo that Chaz designed perfectly fits the lighthearted, but professional tone I want for the website. The image of the waist in the logo is the perfect representation of the name, and expresses it without even having to read the words! Well done!”
